Because of my new found love of all things cloth diapers I decided to search out my local cloth diaper stores. There are only two. Rosie Posie Baby in Anaheim and Granola Babies in Newport Beach. I went to Roise Posie Baby (RPB) first and did their trial run. Which is for $50 I got to pick any 8 diapers in the store to use for two weeks. At the end of the two weeks I can either purchase the diapers I want or give them all back. Either way they keep $20 of the $50. Which isn't a bad deal. Plus if you buy anything over a total of $100 they put that $20 towards your purchase. Also with the trial they give you a pail liner, pre-folds and other items. I didn't get some of the items because I already had them. Because of this trial deal I got to try a bunch of different diapers. Rumparooz, Happy Heiny's, Fuzzibunz, a fitted diaper with a cover (NOTHING like the Pocket or All-In-One Diapers (AIO)), the Organic Bumgenius, and Bottom Bumpers Organic & Cotton Velour AIO. These were all the diapers I wanted to try. I know that doesn't add up to 8 but I have a couple of some of the brands. Lots to remember right? Well here's my breakdown:
Rumparooz I LOVE! They have an inner gusset around the legs to keep messies in. These are my favorite for over night. Babe tends to leak through the leg holes if she does wet through the diaper and she has YET to leak through one of these at night. These ones are a bit pricey for me. They run around $20-$25 per diaper.
Happy Heiny's I do not like. Now I know from searching and reading comments that some people swear by these but they do not fit Babe very well and she leaks EVERY time she has worn it. So much in fact that since I've washed it I haven't put it back on her just so I don't have to deal with the leak. They do have a snugger fit around the waist . These tend to run from $18-$23. I personally would not buy this one and will return it with glee back to RPB.
Fuzzibunz are nice pocket diapers. They fit Babe very nicely, I haven't had any leaks, and they clean very well. I personally don't care for them much because at the very back where you stuff it is very loose and open. I would buy Fuzzibunz and use them but they are not my first choice.
Now the fitted diaper and covers are nice. The fitted diaper is from Happy Heiny's and it doesn't have an outer PUL or water proof layer. The whole diaper gets wet which makes it great for over night. You can stuff it for extra absorbency and then use a cover. A cover is the water proof layer to keep the clothing dry. Most people use this method for night time cloth diapering. Babe does stay dry with this method but I don't prefer it. The fitted diapers run between $12-18 and the covers run $8-16 depending on the brand name.

The Organic Bumgenius diapers (I have two) are an AIO (All-In-One). Meaning that there is no pocket to stuff it. Everything is sewn right into the diaper. I LOVE these and will be keeping them. The ONLY issue I have with them is they take TWICE as long to dry. Babe doesn't leak and they seem to hold a lot. I haven't tried them over night yet. These also tend to be a bit pricey but are very nice diapers. They run about about $25 per diaper.
Bottom Bumpers Organic Cotton & Bamboo Velour are not my type of diaper. One of the ladies at RPB swears by these and I thought it wouldn't hurt to try them. There are no leaks but the closure on these diapers are velcro. Now my favorite closure because they tend to grab stuff in the wash and snag. All of the other diapers I have gotten I've gotten with snaps and they are WONDERFUL. RPB only had the velcro closure at there store. You can get this brand with snaps. The liner/insert also snaps in and can be removed for washing. These usually run about $23-25.
Now to end this wonderful new obsession of mine I wanted to share another type of diaper.
Swaddleebees/Blueberry are AWESOME diapers. They have different styles to chose from. I had a friend of mine refer me to their website. I bought one of each kind (4 different types) and really, really like them.
The One Size Diapers are as follows:
Blueberry One Size Bamboo Deluxe 2/ Micoterry inserts. I LOVE this diaper. Soft, no leaks, and the inserts are very absorbent. I will be getting more of these in the future. One Size means that they can fit babies from birth until potty trained. These are $19.95 but you get the diaper and 2 inserts which is a good deals for the price!
Swaddle Bees Econappi - Snaps - This one didn't come with inserts to I just used my gCloth (from gDiapers) inserts and they worked just fine. (I have contacted the company to see about getting the inserts that are supposed to come with it. It should have come with two bamboo inserts) I also like this diaper and would buy more of these in the future.
They are $28.95. These are more because they are made of bamboo and the inserts are made of bamboo as well. This type of fabric/material is a bit more money. I still like the diaper though. It looks JUST like the Blueberry One Size. The only difference is what the inserts are made of.
Blueberry Basix AIO - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! these diapers. I want more. Why do I love them? Well besides having an insert sewn right in the extra layer insert is only sewn in on one side so that it can come out in the wash and dry faster. The other AWESOME thing about these diapers is there is an opening on both ends so if you need extra absorbency you can add it. PLUS you don't have to unstuff the diaper at all. It all agitates out of the wash! Awesome. Pure Genius. So glad Deanne shared this brand of diapers with me! The only down side to this diaper is it comes in sizes. So you buy the size you need and then move up as you need them. The good thing about cloth diapers though is you can use them for multiple babies once you buy them. They are $16.95 per diaper.
Swaddlebees Simplex AIO - JUST like the Blueberry Basix but has different material inside. Just as awesome. The insides of these diapers are made from a cotton material so they are a lot like pre-folds. I will be getting more of these in the future. These also come in sizes. These diaper are $17.95.
Now I know that this post is long I wanted to share what I learned and what not. Now if you are adventurous you can make your own cloth diapers for free. There are free patterns online; all you need to do is buy the materials. I have looked into doing it myself but I'm just not driven to make my own yet.
