Daydreams

I have a daydream I frequent. Brings me home. Makes me feel whole. Makes me feel like I can take on simplifying my life.

It starts off with me waking inside a log cabin. Not a modern one but one void of all electricity and running water. I stretch my arms and feel the cold as I throw back the covers. I quickly dress. My buckskin shirt and pants are always close. A knife is strapped to my side. I pull on some beautiful moccasins that were made by a dear friend. (who has yet to have a name). I step out the door to see the sun rising over the tips of the mountain which paints the water with orange and pink of a new day. Retrieving my bow and quiver I set off on the hunt. (from here the daydream changes. Shifts. Depending on my mood and how I need to relax) Sometimes I just see myself sitting near the lake listening to the sounds around me.

This is what I want. A simple life. I dream of a day when I can have earth around me and trees to roam. I dream of a day where I can watch the trees turn colors and feel the air change. I dream of a day of peace. I dream of a day of tranquility. I know that day will come. I just need to hang in there and all this confusion with the world around me will leave. One day goodness will just be.

Most of the time this daydream is cut short by the laughter of my children bringing back to reality and what is. What I have been entrusted with. Why I am here now. Why I am growing and understand. Ever wonder to yourself when your frustrated with your little one's how frustrated Heavenly Father must be with you when you don't listen the first, second, or even the third time? Helps me to be patient because He is with me.

What do you daydream of?

Oh my favorite day dream is when I'm laying in a woven hammock, on a desolate beach, with a cute straw hat, sipping something fruity and delicious while reading a good book. Just me, the sun, the water and my thoughts....ahhh yeah! (I know you're thinking Corona commercial and in a small way...it is. Minus the Corona of course ha ha)
