Non-Toxic Edible Items

Breck has this cute book called "Yummy Yucky" by Leslie Patricelli. It talks about what is yummy to eat and what is yucky to eat. One of those is, "Blueberries are yummy. Blue crayons are yucky." (Rolling my eyes) Obviously Breck hasn't learned any thing from this book. Why you wonder? While we were out celebrating my birthday this evening at Mimi's Cafe Breck was drawing on a piece of paper and I looked over and noticed something crumbly and odd around his mouth. As I glanced around to find what he would have gotten those curious little hands on I noticed the end of the blue crayon was gone. Oh dear! So I started excavating his mouth to discover that he was quite successful at grinding up that crayon with his new molars.

(SIGH) At least the crayon was non-toxic.

Now I can handle blue crayons! I think all little kids assume that crayons are candy!? Ben had to try out each color when we got him a new box. Each time he tried a different crayon he told us it was "kakas!" That is just too funny! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday! Chloe took a bite of of a red and blue crayon one day. What freaked me out was seeing red in her diaper the next day. After I saw the blue in her diaper I calmed down and realized it was the crayons. I guess she was hungry.

Ha ha! Maybe you need to read him that book a few more times... obviously it hasn't sunk in yet. :)

I love these two newer stories- Just yesterday Gracie tried to eat her new crayons. I wonder when they'll get it. Sorry about Breck learning to take off his diaper. :)

I like your attitude about the non-toxic crayon. I think every child has had a crayon in their mouth at some point or another. Happy Birthday!! I hope it was stellar!! Much Love!!
