Today

Wow. Being in California is nice and different but I'm still having a hard time feeling like I'm home. Tom and I have both said that we feel like we are on vacation and it really hasn't settled in yet that we are here to stay. I think it will feel more permanent when we finally move into our apartment and are living with earthly things we know. Sleeping in our on bed, have more than a few toys for Breck to play with so he doesn't get bored, and just using our own kitchen stuff! The kitchen in our temporary housing is nice but there isn't a whole of food storage containers for leftover meals! It's starting to drive me batty and because there is so much paint on everything the cupboards won't close properly. Becky knows this is problem with me. I think it leads back to the fact that I'm short and when you leave a cupboard open my forehead is the first one to find it.

I'm enjoying the fact that it's warm enough that I don't need a jacket yet cool enough I'm not freezing to death. Now in the mornings that's a different story because there is so much moisture in the air and dew everywhere that it's chilly in our apartment and outside so hot chocolate has been my main choice of drink in the mornings. I thank my dad for that addiction. If you want to call it an addiction . . .
